Karey Smagacz
My name is Karey! I’m 28 and was raised and currently live in Frazee! I am married and have 2 beautiful children ages 4 & 8. I also carried a baby for my dear friends in New Jersey, who is now 2! Much of my after high-school career was spent at Lund boats where I did many things ranging from upholstery to painting. In 2022, we moved back to frazee and I quit my job to pursue a degree in social work, which I got my associates degree in at Mstate in Detroit Lakes.
Before we moved, I started my journey with my business! I sold at the farmers market for the summer, then took the next year off as I was pregnant with surrobabe, I was working a good bit of overtime, and I was busy moving and starting school. Last summer I started selling again and tried much harder to advertise and get the word out about my little business.
I enjoy the creativity baking lends me. Other things I enjoy include foraging and getting out in nature. I wasn’t taught any of this- I didn’t have a parent or grandparents that owned a bakery, or anyone showing me how to make anything really. I came into adulthood barely knowing how to cook a meal- I was raised by my DAD. (No shade he worked harder than any living person I know & still does- he just wasn’t ever a cook per say let alone a baker )
